Nitish Kumar Announces ₹6000 Stipend for Youth Under New Skill Development Scheme

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced the approval of a new youth-focused scheme under the state’s flagship 7 Nischay-2’ initiative. The scheme aims to enhance employability, skill development, and self-reliance among the state’s youth.

Taking to social media platform X, CM Nitish revealed that the state cabinet has sanctioned funds for the Chief Minister-Promotion of Readiness, Awareness and Technical Insights for Guiding Youth Advancement’ scheme, which will provide monthly stipends ranging from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 to eligible youth.

“Under this scheme, youth who have completed their 12th grade will receive ₹4,000 per month, ITI or diploma holders will get ₹5,000, and graduates or postgraduates undergoing internships will be provided ₹6,000 per month,” Kumar stated.

The Chief Minister added that one lakh youth will be given internship opportunities across various institutions from 2025–26 to 2030–31.

Calling it a visionary and innovative initiative, Nitish Kumar said the program is designed to equip Bihar’s youth with advanced skills, leadership qualities, and networking opportunities to ensure long-term career development and employment readiness.

“We are committed to empowering our youth and ensuring a secure, employment-oriented future for them,” he affirmed.


Punaura Dham Temple Project Also Approved

Bihar cabinet approves temple and infrastructure development at Sitamarhi’s Punaura Dham, inspired by Ram Janmabhoomi model in Ayodhya.

Separately, on Tuesday, CM Nitish Kumar announced that the cabinet had approved a comprehensive development plan for Punaura Dham, the revered birthplace of Goddess Sita in Sitamarhi district.

The project includes the construction of a grand temple and supporting infrastructure, inspired by the design of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya. The state government has approved a budget of ₹882.78 crore for the development.

“I am delighted to share that the cabinet has approved a major plan for the birthplace of Mother Janaki, including a majestic temple and related facilities,” the Chief Minister said in a post on X in Hindi.
