Responding to his statements on Union Minister Smriti Irani on Monday, Congress leader Ajay Rai said he did not want to insult anyone. The leader further raised the question whether he should apologize and said he did not use any ‘unparliamentary language’.
“I did not intend to insult anyone. It is our colloquial language which means someone suddenly appears and says something and then disappears. It is not unparliamentary language. So why should I apologise?” asked Ajay Rai.
Earlier on Monday, UP BJP spokesperson Anand Dubey reacted to Rai’s comments, saying, “The language used by the Congress has always been anti-women. It reflects the culture and mindset of the Congress. And as a party, Which has given a female lead.” This kind of statement from the minister of a nation, and its leader, which was headed by a woman president for a long time, is certainly shameful.”
Smriti Irani then reacted to his statement saying that Rahul Gandhi and his mother Sonia needed a new screenwriter. He also criticized the ‘indecent’ language used by Rai.
