Kishan Bagaria, a 26-year-old tech entrepreneur from Assam, India, recently sold his app for Rs 416 crore to Automattic, the parent company of WordPress.
He completed his primary education in Assam, he attended Don Bosco School and Agrasen Academy in Dibrugarh. Instead of pursuing a traditional college education, he chooses to develop his skills and knowledge through online resources, showing a keen interest in tech innovation from the age of 12.
Bagaria is a founder of texts.com, an AI-driven message-management platform that consolidates various messaging apps like WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, and Telegram into a single dashboard. This platform ensures user privacy by preventing others from knowing if messages have been viewed. Launched in 2020, texts.com quickly gained popularity through word of mouth after Kishan shared a prototype with friends, eventually catching the attention of industry
One notable industry leader, Matt Mullenweg, the owner of WordPress and Tumblr, was highly impressed by Kishan’s innovation and acquired texts.com for 50 million dollars. Mullenweg praised Kishan as a “generational tech genius,” recognizing the significant impact of his creation in the tech sector.
Kishan Bagaria currently resides in the USA, continuing to develop and expand texts.com. Despite the acquisition, he remains deeply involved in the project, serving as the head of messaging. His role ensures that he continues to influence the direction and growth of the platform, leveraging his expertise and vision.
