Maharashtra Lokayukta Bill 2022: The Shinde government running with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra passed the Maharashtra Lokayukta Bill 2022 in the assembly today.

The Shinde government formed in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Maharashtra today passed an important bill. The Maharashtra Lokayukta Bill 2022 has been passed by the Shinde government in the Maharashtra Assembly. According to this bill, the Lokayukta will have to take the approval of the assembly before starting any inquiry against the chief minister. Along with this, the approval of at least two-thirds of the total members of the assembly will be necessary.
 
The Maharashtra Lokayukta Bill 2022 was introduced in the assembly on Monday 26 December 2022. Please tell that this is the bill in which there is a provision to bring the Chief Minister and the cabinet under the purview of the anti-corruption ombudsman. It has also been said in this bill that the Lokayukta will not investigate such cases related to allegations of corruption against the Chief Minister, which are related to internal security or public order.

According to media reports, there is also a provision in the Maharashtra Lokayukta Bill 2022 that any investigation into any matter related to internal security or public order related to allegations of corruption against the Chief Minister will be kept secret and if the Lokayukta reaches the conclusion that the complaint deserves to be dismissed, the records of the inquiry shall not be published or made available to anyone.
