Odisha Police SI Recruitment 2025: 933 Vacancies Open

Odisha Police SI Recruitment 2025: The Odisha Police Recruitment Board has opened the registration and application process for 933 Sub Inspector and equivalent vacancies starting today, January 20. Candidates can apply until February 10 at odishapolice.gov.in.

There is no application fee for this recruitment. Out of the 933 vacancies, 609 are for the post of ‘Sub-Inspector of Police,’ 253 for ‘Sub-Inspector of Police (Armed),’ 47 for ‘Station Officer (Fire Service),’ and 24 for ‘Assistant Jailor’ under the Home Department, Government of Odisha.

The recruitment board has stated that Persons with Disabilities are not eligible to apply for these posts.

Women and transgender candidates are eligible to apply only for the Sub-Inspector of Police and Assistant Jailor posts.

Applicants must be between 21 and 25 years old as of January 1, 2024. However, there is a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC, and Women categories.

For ex-servicemen, the upper age limit is relaxed by the duration of their service. If a candidate qualifies for age relaxation under multiple categories, the most beneficial relaxation will be applied.

Odisha Police SI Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

  1. Citizenship and Language Requirements:
    • The applicant must be an Indian citizen with good moral character, sound health, and a physique free from any organic defects or infirmities.
    • Proficiency in Odia is mandatory. Applicants must be able to speak, read, and write in Odia.
  2. Educational Requirements for Odia Proficiency:
    • Passed ME school or higher examination with Odia as a subject,
    • Passed HSC or equivalent examination with Odia as a medium in non-language subjects, or
    • Cleared the Odia written test at ME school standard conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha.
  3. Disqualifications:
    • Applicants with more than one living spouse or those convicted of a criminal offense are not eligible.
  4. Minimum Educational Qualifications:
    • For SI Police, SI Police (Armed), and Assistant Jailor: A bachelor’s degree is required.
    • For Station Officer (Fire Service): Only Science or Engineering graduates are eligible.

The recruitment process comprises an OMR-based written test and a Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST). The PET/PST rounds are qualifying in nature.

Following the written test, candidates up to seven times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the PET/PST based on their merit.
