The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is set to implement a 20% reservation in police and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) recruitment for Agniveers. In addition to reservation, age relaxation will also be granted to Agniveers retiring from the first batch in 2026. The Home Department has drafted the necessary rules, which will be presented for approval during the upcoming cabinet meeting at Lok Bhavan, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Several BJP-ruled states have already introduced similar job reservations for Agniveers. Notably, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced this initiative last year on Kargil Vijay Diwas.

In addition to the Agniveer reservation policy, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet is expected to discuss the One District One Product (ODOP) 2.0 scheme. The updated version will allow the inclusion of multiple products from each district and emphasize enhancements in branding, packaging, marketing, and product quality. Another proposal under consideration is the One District One Cuisine initiative, which aims to identify unique local dishes from each district and promote them on a global platform.

Additionally, the cabinet is likely to consider three proposals from the Industrial Development Department. These include issuing a letter of comfort to one company and approving subsidies for five others, aimed at boosting industrial investment and development in the state.

The meeting is also expected to approve a new Export Policy for 2025–2030 and an Urban Green Policy focused on increasing greenery in urban areas. Additionally, the Tourism Department’s Homestay Policy is likely to be discussed during the session.
