One such philanthropic gesture includes a €1 million donation to Corila, a Venice-based research institute dedicated to lagoon preservation—a meaningful move amid the grandeur of the occasion. Despite intense media interest, specific details about the actual wedding ceremony remain tightly guarded. However, Reuters reported that the main event is slated to take place at the Arsenale, a centuries-old naval complex that has been cordoned off exclusively for the private celebration.
The impact of the celebration has been visible in more ways than one. Venice has seen a spike in private jet traffic, with nearly 90 aircraft expected to touch down at airports in Venice, Treviso, and Verona. The influx of elite guests has also led to the booking of at least 30 water taxis to ferry attendees through the city’s winding canals.
Some of the notable early arrivals include Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, who reportedly traveled from Tuscany to attend the event. To accommodate the estimated 200–250 guests, luxury accommodations like the famed Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca Island and Aman Venice on the Grand Canal have been entirely booked. The Aman Venice, notably, also hosted the wedding of George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin in 2014.
Despite the glamour, the celebration has not been free from criticism. A leaked image of the couple’s wedding invitation, obtained by ABC News, sparked a flurry of mockery on social media. Critics lambasted the design as “tacky,” “ugly,” and a “graphic design disaster,” in sharp contrast to the otherwise lavish tone of the affair.
