Industrialists Mukesh Ambani and Anand Mahindra were among the guests attending the state dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s honour at the White House today.
Prominent Indian-origin industry executives, Sundar Pichai, Satya Nadella and Indra Nooyi, besides Apple CEO Tim Cook were also the guest list.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, are among Indian government representatives who attended the dinner.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and US envoy to India Eric Garcetti were also there.
Indian-origin US representatives Ro Khanna and Raja Krishnamoorthi, Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath and famous fashion designer Ralph Lauren were among the other guests at the state dinner.
US First Lady Jill Biden worked with guest chef Nina Curtis and other White House chefs had prepared the menu for the State Dinner.
The menu included lemon-dill yogurt sauce, crisped millet cakes, summer squashes, marinated millet and grilled corn kernel salad, compressed watermelon, tangy avocado sauce, stuffed portobello mushrooms, creamy saffron-infused risotto, rose and cardamom-infused strawberry shortcake.
“We are very excited that India is leading efforts to celebrate the international year of millet. We have incorporated marinated millets into our menu,” said Nina Curtis.
