Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg surpassed Amazon founder Jeff Bezos on Friday to become the world’s second-richest person, according to data from the Bloomberg Billionaires’ Index. Zuckerberg’s net worth now stands at $206 billion, trailing only Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who tops the list with $256 billion. The US-based billionaire co-founded Facebook (now Meta) in 2004, and over the past two decades, the company has evolved into one of the most influential platforms for global information exchange.
Meta also owns Instagram and WhatsApp, two of the most successful communication platforms globally. The California-based company reported a revenue of $134.9 billion in 2023 and boasts around 4 billion monthly active users.
Musk is expected to become a trillionaire by 2027. While the race among billionaires may seem remarkable, a recent report sheds light on when these public figures could achieve trillionaire status. In September, Dubai-based Informa Connect Academy predicted that Musk could reach this milestone by 2027. The report also suggests that Indian industrialist Gautam Adani, whose wealth is growing at an annual rate of 123%, could follow, potentially becoming a trillionaire by 2028.
Top 10 Richest People Globally
Currently, Gautam Adani ranks as the 17th richest person in the world, with a net worth of $100 billion, making him the second wealthiest Asian. The richest Asian and Indian is industrialist Mukesh Ambani, whose fortune stands at $107 billion.
Other notable figures in the top 10 include Bernard Arnault, CEO of French luxury conglomerate LVMH; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; legendary investor Warren Buffett; Google co-founder Larry Page; former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer; and Oracle founder Larry Ellison.
