Selection Process and Examination Structure

    • UR: 40%
    • OBC/SC: 30%
    • ST: 25%
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each incorrect answer

CBT 2 (Computer-Based Test – Stage 2)

  • Eligibility: Only candidates who qualify in CBT 1
  • Total Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes
  • Divided Into:
    • Part A:
      • Duration: 90 minutes
      • Questions: 100
      • Subjects: Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science, Basic Science & Engineering, Current Affairs
      • Marks Counted for Final Merit
    • Part B:
      • Duration: 60 minutes
      • Questions: 75
      • Syllabus: Relevant trade as per the candidate’s ITI/Diploma/Engineering discipline

CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test)

  • Applicable to candidates who clear CBT 2
  • Tests aptitude and psychometric ability for safety-critical duties of loco pilots
  • Minimum Qualifying Score: 42 (for all categories)
  • No Negative Marking
  • Marks from CBAT are considered along with CBT 2 Part A for final merit (70% weightage for Part A + 30% for CBAT)

Final Stages: Document Verification & Medical Examination

Candidates who clear the CBAT will be called for Document Verification (DV). During this phase, original educational certificates, identity proofs, caste/reservation certificates (if applicable), and Aadhaar card details will be verified. It’s crucial that the information on the Aadhaar card matches the Class 10 certificate to avoid discrepancies.

Following document verification, selected candidates must undergo a Medical Examination to confirm their physical fitness, especially visual acuity and other standards essential for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot.
