CSIR UGC NET 2024 December: Registration Open, Apply Before December 30

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened the registration process for the December 2024 Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET). Eligible candidates can apply online at csirnet.nta.ac.in or nta.ac.in. The deadline for submitting the application form is December 30, 2024.

Applicants are encouraged to carefully review the eligibility criteria outlined in the Information Bulletin available on the official website before submitting their applications. The exam fee can be paid online using debit/credit cards, internet banking, or UPI.

The CSIR-UGC NET 2024 examination is scheduled to be conducted between February 16, 2025, and February 28, 2025. The test will have a total duration of 180 minutes (three hours).

According to the official notification, the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination for December 2024 is conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the following:

  • Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as Assistant Professor
  • Appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.
  • Admission to Ph.D. only

The examination will be held in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Candidates are advised to submit only one application form. Submitting multiple applications is strictly prohibited, and any violation of this rule may result in severe consequences as stated in the official notice.

Candidates are required to provide their email address and mobile number while filling out the Online Application Form. All communication from NTA will be sent exclusively via email or SMS to the registered email address and mobile number.

CSIR-UGC NET 2024: Steps to Apply

  1. Visit the Official Website: Go to the CSIR NET portal at csirnet.nta.ac.in.
  2. Start Registration: Click on the ‘New Registration’ button.
  3. Read Instructions: Download the CSIR NET Information Bulletin and carefully review the instructions.
  4. Proceed to Form: Tick the acknowledgment box at the bottom of the page to access the registration form.
  5. Complete and Submit: Fill out the form with the required details and submit it to finalize your registration.

The examination fee is ₹1150 for General category candidates, ₹600 for General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories, and ₹325 for SC, ST, PwD, and third-gender candidates.

The exam includes five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences (covering Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences), Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
