Siddiquee’s legal notice claims that certain parties, driven by “personal vested interests” and “hidden agendas and criminal motives,” have been spreading misleading narratives about Ektaa Kapoor. These allegations stem from a 2020 police complaint, which, according to the notice, had already been closed by the Police Department. Despite the matter being settled, some individuals have reportedly continued to exploit it, aiming to defame Kapoor and her media brand.

Amid her ongoing legal battle, a Mumbai court has instructed the city police to investigate a criminal complaint filed against Ektaa Kapoor for allegedly disrespecting Indian soldiers in one of her web series. The Bandra magistrate’s court has ordered the police to submit a report by May 9 under Section 202 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which grants the magistrate the authority to investigate a complaint or direct the police to do so.

The complaint was filed by YouTuber Vikas Pathak, also known as Hindustani Bhau, and names Ektaa Kapoor, her OTT platform Alt Balaji, as well as her parents, Shobha Kapoor and Jeetendra Kapoor.
According to the complaint filed by Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, an episode of an Alt Balaji web series allegedly portrayed a military officer engaging in an “illicit sexual act.” Vikas Pathak (Hindustani Bhau) claimed he came across the episode in May 2020 and accused Ektaa Kapoor and her platform of “stooping to a cheap low” and “shamelessly targeting the dignity and pride of our country.” The complaint further alleges that the scene involved the Indian Army uniform and the national emblem, which caused significant outrage.
