India’s Longest Vande Bharat Express Launches Today: Delhi to Patna in 11 Hours 30 Minutes – Fare Details Inside

With Diwali and Chhath Puja around the corner, Indian Railways is introducing its longest Vande Bharat Express to boost the country’s growing high-speed rail network. Launching just in time for the festive travel season, this new route will connect Patna, Bihar’s capital, with Delhi, offering an essential transit option for holiday travelers.

Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat: Expansive Route and Speedy Travel

The Ministry of Railways has announced that the Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express will initially operate on a trial basis, with stops at major stations including Arrah, Buxar, DDU, Prayagraj, and Kanpur. Spanning approximately 994 kilometers, this high-speed train offers passengers a swift and comfortable journey, completing the route from New Delhi to Patna in just 11 hours and 35 minutes.

In comparison, the Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express takes 11 hours and 55 minutes, while the New Delhi-Rajendra Nagar Tejas Rajdhani completes the journey in 11 hours and 30 minutes.

Meeting Festive Travel Demand with the Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat

The launch of the Vande Bharat Express aligns with the festive season rush, addressing increased travel demand as passengers head home for Diwali and Chhath Puja. This period sees a surge in demand for trains and flights, particularly from Delhi, which has a large Bihari population. The new Vande Bharat service is set to ease travel pressures by providing additional capacity and a faster travel option.

Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Schedule
The Vande Bharat Express will operate from New Delhi to Patna on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The return journey from Patna to New Delhi will take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The train departs Delhi at 8:25 AM and arrives in Patna by 8:00 PM. For the return trip, it leaves Patna at 7:30 AM, arriving in Delhi at 7:00 PM.

Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Ticket Pricing Details
This service will offer only chair car seating, with no sleeper class available. Ticket prices are set at ₹2,575 for an AC chair car and ₹4,655 for an executive chair car.

Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Upcoming Service Dates
The Vande Bharat Express will commence operations on October 30, with additional trips scheduled for November 1, 3, and 6. The return service from Patna to Delhi will be available on November 2, 4, and 7.

Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Summary of the Journey
The train departs New Delhi at 8:25 AM, making stops at Kanpur, Prayagraj, and Buxar before reaching Arrah Junction at 7:10 PM and concluding its journey in Patna by 8:00 PM. On its return, it will leave Patna at 7:30 AM, arrive at Arrah Junction at 8:07 AM, and reach Delhi by 7:00 PM.
