On March 2, Sunday, the popular music reality show Indian Idol season 13 found its winner in 19-year-old boy Rishi Singh. Yes, the lovable boy from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, beat Deboshmita Roy and Chirag Kotwal in the grand finale and won the title of Indian Idol 13. Rishi walked away with the trophy, Rs 25 lakhs prize money, and a luxurious car.
Soon after the winner was announced in the episode, SET India broke the news on Instagram. Sharing a photo of Rishi Singh, the channel acknowledged the winner’s hard work by saying, “Sab pe chalaake apna jaadu, Rocking Rishi ne jeeta sirf humaara dil hi nahi balki Indian Idol ki ye trophy bhi. A well-deserved contestant of the Indian Idol Season 13. Congratulations, Rishi!”
Kolkata’s Deboshmita Roy became the first runner-up of the show. The channel congratulated Roy for her passion towards music, and wrote, “Deboshmita ne Indian Idol se banayi apni ek alag pehchaan.Congratulations, Deboshmita!”
Jammu and Kashmir-origin Chirag Kotwal become the second runner-up of Indian Idol 13, and he was also praised by the judges, Himesh Reshammiya and Vishal Dadlani for his glorious journey in the show. Among the top three contestants were Kolkata’s Bidipta Chakraborty, Sonakshi Kar and Vadodra’s Shivam Singh.
In a statement, Rishi Singh said that he can’t believe that he has won the Indian Idol 13 trophy. For him, the feeling is surreal! It was a dream come true moment for him when his name was announced as the winner of this season. “It is a huge honour to be taking ahead the legacy of such a well-loved and prestigious show. I am grateful to the channel, the judges, and the entire team of Indian Idol for giving us such a wonderful platform to showcase our talent.” He further extended his gratitude to all his fans and viewers who have always supported him and voted for him to win this coveted title. “Thank you for making my dream turn into reality,” Singh said. Indian Idol season 13 started on September 10, 2022, and the hunt for the future of the music world ended on April 2, 2023.
